Twitter Introduces Job Posting Feature to Attract Top Talent and Compete with LinkedIn

Date: July 21, 2023

Social media giant Twitter is taking a significant step into the job market by launching a new feature that enables verified organizations to post job openings on their company profiles. With this move, Twitter aims to compete with prominent job search platforms like LinkedIn and Indded.

The feature will allow verified companies to scout for fresh talent among Twitter’s vast user base of 528 million. Verified organizations can feature up to 5 jobs on their company profile, making them easily accessible to anyone visiting the company’s Twitter profile.

Notably, this feature comes with a supported Application Tracking System or XML, streamlining the process of adding jobs to Twitter within minutes.

App researcher Nima Owji first spotted the new feature and shared a screenshot, revealing Twitter’s marketing approach as a way for companies to attract top talent for their open positions. Interestingly, Elon Musk had hinted at the possibility of Twitter introducing a jobs feature back in May, making the feature’s release a topic of anticipation among users.

In a bid to further enhance its position in the job market, Twitter had previously made its first acquisition in May, acquiring job-matching tech startup Laskie under Musk’s leadership.

With this latest move, Twitter aims to become a formidable competitor in the job search realm, offering companies a new platform to connect with potential employees and making job opportunities more accessible to users worldwide.
