Pakistan to Boost Skilled Workers’ Deployment to UAE, Focusing on IT Sector

Dubai, Date: July 24, 2023

Pakistan aims to increase the number of skilled workers, particularly in the IT sector, to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE. In a conversation with Pakistani journalists in Dubai, Tirmizi emphasized the significant contributions of Pakistanis to the UAE’s growth, particularly in engineering, aerodynamics, and IT sectors.

The ambassador highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations and acknowledged the valuable role played by Pakistani professionals in various key sectors of the UAE’s economy. As the UAE continues to advance towards a knowledge-based economy, there is a growing demand for skilled workers, especially in areas like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

With the UAE hosting the second-largest South Asian diaspora, including a substantial Pakistani community of 1.7 million people, Tirmizi proposed that Pakistan should leverage the opportunities in the IT and tourism sectors. He believes there is untapped potential in tourism due to Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, which includes sacred Buddhist and Hindu sites.

Considering the UAE’s ambitious plans for economic transformation, there is an increasing need for highly skilled professionals to meet the nation’s evolving demands. Pakistan aims to play an active role in providing skilled manpower to support the UAE’s growth trajectory and strengthen the bond between the two nations.

By focusing on sending more skilled workers, especially in the IT sector, Pakistan seeks to contribute significantly to the UAE’s ongoing progress and embrace the opportunities offered by the dynamic and diverse economy of the Emirates.
