PML-N Government Finalizes Key Appointments Before Completion of its Term

According to Web Sources, Before the conclusion of its tenure, the PDM government has made several significant appointments in ministries and affiliated institutions related to economics and finance. These appointments come as the PML-N administration wraps up its term. Noteworthy among them is the selection of State Bank’s Deputy Governor, Salim Ullah, who has been chosen to fulfill this role.

The Ministry of Finance had presented three names for the federal deputy governor position. Among them, Salim Ullah received approval. Additionally, appointments have been confirmed for National Bank, SECP, and SBP.

Former Deputy Director-General of Debt (Loan) Office, Mohsin Chandna, has also been inducted as Director-General of Debt Office. More recently, Rahmat Ali Husaini was appointed as the President of National Bank. Following his appointment, Dr. Kabir Ahmed Siddiqui, Salman Amin, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, and Saeed Ahmed Nawaz were appointed as members of the competitive commission, while Dr. Kabir Ahmed Siddiqui was made the Chairman of SECP.

According to sources, in a recent development, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has been designated as the Chairman of the State Bank for the next three years. Moreover, Khaled Rahman, Muhammad Akram, Omar Zafarullah, Sabzada Rauf, Taha Ahmed Khan, and Rizwan Allah Khan are part of the new SBP board. The new board of the SSCC will hold office for three years.

Noted scholar and columnist Khurshid Ahmed Nadeem has been appointed as the Chairman of Rahmat Lil Alameen Authority, and the notification for his appointment has been issued.

Furthermore, the federal government has approved the appointment of Naheem-ul-Din Khan as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL). The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification confirming Naheem-ul-Din Khan’s appointment as President/CEO for the next three years. His clearance was given by the State Bank of Pakistan.
