Date: September 14, 2023

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is now accepting applications for the 5th Cohort of the Incubation Cycle, part of the National Expansion Plan (NEP) for National Incubation Centers (NICs).

The NEP for NICs, an initiative jointly led by the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MoITT) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), aims to bolster the startup ecosystem in Pakistan.

Applications are open for incubation centers located in Gujrat, Jamshoro, Karachi, Kohat, Lahore, Muzaffarabad, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sukkur, Swat, and Taxila.

Notably, the 5th Cohort’s incubation cycle will span six months and adopt a Zero Equity Model, signifying that it comes at no cost to the startups admitted.

The NEP endeavors to select the top 130 startups from across Pakistan. These startups will benefit from complimentary office space, legal guidance, and mentorship. Throughout the six-month program, startups will participate in over 30 sessions and training opportunities.

Applications for NEP are being accepted from various regions, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). In Punjab, applications are sought from Lahore, Rawalpindi, Taxila, and Gujrat. In Sindh, NEP is accepting applications for Karachi, Jamshoro, and Sukkur regions, while in Balochistan, it includes Quetta and Lasbela regions. Additionally, applications are open for the Kohat and Swat regions in KP and the Muzaffarabad region in AJK.
